Winter Tea Recipes

Special-tea Winter Drinks

Before our favorite seasonals leave for the year, I wanted to share some of my favorite Christmas tea recipes with you! These cheery Christmas drinks use our winter blends (Cherry Christmas and Mistletoe Grove) so they're perfect to capture a last taste of the holidays before we start easing our way towards Valentine's, then March, then warmer weather. Reminisce on winter for a few days more with your family by sharing a specialty drink or two!

Cherry Christmas Cocoa

This drink is exactly what you need on a cold and windy winter day. Wrap up in a soft blanket and sip on a mug of this creamy cocoa, richly flavored with the berry-amaretto notes of our seasonal Cherry Christmas black tea. This drink is caffeinated, too, so it's a lovely way to start your morning!

Brewing with Loose Leaf or Tea Bag

  1. Bring 6-8oz of water to a boil
  2. Add your Cherry Christmas: use 1 tea bag OR put 1 1/2 teaspoons of loose leaf in a strainer
  3. Steep the tea for 3.5 minutes
  4. After brewing, pour your favorite hot chocolate mix into the mug of hot tea and mix well!
  5. Add in 2oz of creamer or non-dairy milk (coconut milk is amazing with it!)
  6. Stir again and top the drink with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry. Enjoy!

Mistletoe Grove Wassail

This drink is just right for an evening spent by the fireplace, preferably with your favorite book. A mug of this wassail, lightly spiced with our lovely Mistletoe Grove rooibos blend (my favorite winter tea), will warm you to your very soul. And it's caffeine-free, so you can share with the whole family!

Brewing with Loose Leaf or Tea Bag

  1. Put 8-10oz of your favorite apple cider or juice in a small pot and bring it to a low boil
  2. Add your Mistletoe Grove: use 1 tea bag OR put 1 1/2 teaspoons of loose leaf in a strainer
  3. Steep the tea for 7 minutes in the cider
  4. After brewing, pour the wassail into your mug! Sit back and enjoy

Want to Use Concentrated Tea?

If you have a Piper Brew Kit, these recipes are even easier! No waiting around for a sachet to brew and no fumbling around to measure messy loose leaf. Just simple Concentrated Tea! To make these drinks with concentrate, you'll start by heating up your water (or cider). Instead of steeping the tea, though, you will pour in 1.5oz of Concentrated Tea and stir it in. For the wassail, that's all you need to do! For the cocoa, don't forget to add in your hot chocolate mix and creamer to finish off the drink. Then enjoy!

Concentrate gives you fast & easy drinks, no matter if you're making a regular tea or one of our special-teas!
