I have not been a fan of lavender in my drinks before, but I've always loved a good Earl Grey tea! This just takes that to the next level! I might even say it outranks my favorite normal Earl Grey! The vanilla and lavender are just such a decedent addition and just round out the flavor and aroma of this tea so well that it is hard to put down! Such a fan!

This is my favorite Piper & Leaf tea. I love the lavender and vanilla.

My daughter loves this tea. She is a big fan of vanilla cupcakes and this tea tastes as if you were enjoying a freshly baked cupcake with a cozy cup of tea.

If you want a tea that is bursting with flavor YOU HAVE TO TRY OLD FASHIONED BIRTHDAY CAKE. I have traditionally been a big fan of earl grey and lady grey teas and this is like having a really special cup of one of those teas. This tea is delicious on its own but also amazing when you mix it with a fruit tea like briar patch brew or orchard peach. It is an absolute winner for me!

Kinda. There are definitely subtle hints of the flavors you find it cake, but it smells more of cake than it tastes and that isn't a bad thing! This brew is smooth without being too strong of everything, the flavors go together quite nicely. To me this brew reminds me of birthday cake, because it puts. a smile on your face! Definitely try this is my favorite non-fruity blend.

This is such a delightful blend! It smells exactly like vanilla cake, and drinking it makes me think of having high tea at cute tea house. The blend of vanilla, lavender, and earl grey just puts that whole experience in a cup for me. I prefer to have my tea iced with a little stevia, but this is also delightful hot with a little milk for even more of a tea house feel.

The blend's name and the powerful lavender smell of the looseleaf might trick you into thinking this is not, firstly, a perfectly good Earl Grey. You would be wrong -- the headlining lavender and vanilla play supporting roles for the timeless black tea center-staging, but do so wonderfully, adding a smooth finish to a normally plucky taste. I prefer my Earl Greys hot and black; while the Old Fashioned Birthday Cake is no exception, if you wanted to go a dessert-y route, I think a sweet cream would probably go well with it.

I’m a huge coffee drinker, but recently have tried to get into herbal tea. I have tried all of the generic teas in the “sample packs” from like Walmart, and didn’t get the hype of hot tea. UNTIL I tried Piper and Leaf. Just like coffee beans, the quality of this tea makes a HUGE difference!! I have never enjoyed my daily bev more! I love warm, earthy flavors and this tea is the best tea I have ever had!! I ordered it, received it very quickly and within a week it’s gone (because, not to be dramatic, I am literally addicted to it.) 100% recommend for lavender fans!! Plus, a small business of high quality and excellent flavors!! Love love love!

This smells delicious dry, and brews to be one of my factor Earl Grey variations I’ve ever had. I like to have mine with a bit of sugar and a small splash of milk, to enhance the creamy-vanilla note. It’s smooth and none of the flavors overpower the other. The tea leaves and flavors are high quality, and I’m sure I will crave this one often! I haven’t had it iced yet, it imagine that would work well.

I wish someone had ever made a birthday cake for me that was this good! It reminds me of modern speciality bakery layered cakes with from-scratch frosting.

I am not a big fan of black tea, but I used to order this at a local coffee shop with a little added honey and loved it. They sadly stopped selling it, so I had to buy online.

I absolutely love this tea! It’s similar to a discontinued tea from a more expensive brand. I had originally gotten it in one of the variety packs that I bought when I first found Piper & Leaf. I only had this one and the Springdrop Spritzer left and I didn’t think I’d like either one. I’m glad I didn’t give it away, because I loved them both! This one I keep as a tea concentrate in the fridge because we go through it so quickly. We make sweet tea with it often, however, when I’m in the mood for regular black tea instead of fruity or herbal, I choose this one. It’s black tea, but extra special. I would like to figure out to get a monthly subscription for just this particular tea.

I was given loose leaf Old Fashioned Birthday Cake tea as a gift. I don’t believe I would have picked this tea on my own. I love this tea! It is such a sweet afternoon delight. It has become one of my favorite teas.

This tea is amazing! It really does taste like lavender cake with vanilla frosting! The flavors are balanced and rich and it’s perfect for Earl grey fans. This is one of my favorites to use in a Hot Toddy with a splash of Irish Whiskey. This is one that keeps me coming back for more! Always have some in my cupboard!

This is my absolute favorite flavor of tea. I subscribe to the monthly mailing because it is not so easy to find in the shops. My daughter introduced me to it, by giving it to me on my birthday. By subscribing to the monthly delivery, I always have some on hand. If I don't drink it all, its a great little birthday gift for a friend, as the monthly mailing comes wrapped nicely with a string bow, and ready for gifting.

Delicious! Personally I prefer it iced but is good hot too.

This blend is so decadent. It's quite a smooth flavor and somehow sweet (pure magic how you managed that!). The touch of lavender with the bergamot is divine. My preference for black tea is to be served hot, but this one is a treat cold as well. No need for any sweeteners.

This was one of the first teas I tried from P&L a few years ago and it is still my favorite! So glad I bought some to have at home!
